You haven't got enough power in your computer. How many Watts do you have?
You need 400W+ I think.

Can't test this because I don't have access to Rata sum with my warrior, however to try, someone should download a traffic analyzer (like wireshark) and make a capture of packets. If the increase is really huge then maybe, but I hope Anet is buffering the synchronization packets (so many messages at the same time could be sent in a single packet).

So apparently it doesn't matter that dont feel no pain did last longer than that does it? <_<

On topic: I won't be able to test this, but it seems pretty bad. Hope Anet can do something about it x.x

Since this started, I've been using an e/me sliver build down there, running dual visage. Slows me down a bit, but nothing too serious. It's something different to farm. Thanks for the idea.

Faster internet doesn't solve the problem, Bill Gates crash too. Faster internet works only for download things, the other things are the same.

It sounds like what causes the crash is a buffer overflow probably in the drawing buffer although could be in the engine message buffer.

Hey now, I really did consider the fact that an ATI card could have been the problem. Evidently by now it may not be (Not reading back, but I know others have the crash too) which is completely reasonable. I'm just saying in my experience It's been bad with ATI cards, my laptop has one, and needless to say.. it makes me lose hair, my GF has one too.. ugh. Nvidia cards have always just seemed more reliable then ATI, plus 8800GTX's are pretty nifty right now.

Texmod is definitely part of the problem for those that are crashing running it, for those that think that it doesnt slow your machine operating it, you are just fooling yourself.

Except more than half the people who have crashed have said they aren't running TexMod.

Don't see how, since I run 3-7 mods at all times, and I don't have this issue. As far as slowing down your system, only if you're running on the low end of the spectrum. A midgrade or better graphics card and you won't have an issue with Texmod related slowdowns.

i dont really think this is a bug. i think its just overload on your computer. if you calculate everything, its a TON of numbers per second. i tried this a while back on the halycon job sins. i think the number is 27 sins when u aggro them all. so lets just say they attack like once per second.

one hit from one guy triggers the -3.....27 times
one hit from 27 guys triggers the -3.....27x27 = 729 times
8second visage triggers the -3............729x8 = 5832 times
2 visages at same time triggers the -3..5832x2= 11664 times

i never see more than maybe 100 -3s (im estimating) on my screen. so that means there are hundreds or thousands of -3s that dont fit on my screen but my computer is putting out them out anyways. i guess if your screens width was like a mile long, you can see them all.

so pretty much, if you dont own a high end type computer, find a different build or aggro less enemies. i cant visage 27 sins but i can dual visage 10.

this is one occasion that im glad that enemies flee, otherwise i couldnt 600 foundry. when i hit that visage and famine is dealin dmg, they flee after a few sec. if they didnt, i would be pwned by the -3s and my comp would crash.

I still don't see an answer to:
Is this crashing your client only or the whole instance?
Just carry someone around and ask what happens when you crash.

If you get the 'do you want to reconnect?" dialog then you're doing absolutely nothing to your instance or the server. If this could crash the servers it would be very funny ^^ yay for buffer overflows
